As an Aging Boomer

As an aging boomer I have learned
not to prioritize our looks my friend,
they will be changing forevermore.
As an aging boomer, I have learned
our sense of humor though,
will only get better as we age.
As an aging boomer, I have learned
our intuition will grow and expand,
like a majestic cloak of wisdom.
As an aging boomer, I have learned
our ability to choose our battles,
will be fine-tuned to perfection.
As an aging boomer, I have learned
our capacity for stillness,
for living in the now, will blossom.
As an aging boomer, I have learned,
our desire to live each and every moment,
will transcend all other wants and desires.
As an aging boomer, I have learned
our instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth our time,
will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall.
As an aging boomer, I have learned,
not to prioritize our looks my friend,
they will be changing forevermore.
Our looks don’t reflect our beautiful core.
As an aging boomer, I have learned
to prioritize the uniqueness that makes us who we are,
and the invisible magnet that draws in other like-minded souls.
As an aging boomer I learned
these are a few of the precious things which will only get better with age.
